Why Are Your Prices Inexpensive Compared to Others? What’s the Catch?

  • There are only two legal ways to acquire GTINs: renting from GS1 or owning pre-2002 GS1-USA GTINs like the ones we provide.
  • Our GTIN inventory is fully GS1-compliant, globally unique, and legally ownable for life with no renewal fees.
  • We sell GTINs individually or in flexible quantities, unlike GS1’s bundled, higher-cost packages.
  • Our fair pricing reflects efficiency—not lower quality—while some sellers overcharge newcomers unfamiliar with GTIN standards.

There’s only two ways to legally acquire the use of a GTIN. You can rent it from GS1 under their current fee structure, or you can own it outright from us due to the GS1/UCC class-action lawsuit settlement in 2002. Our inventory of GTIN barcode numbers and prefixes originates from GS1-USA before 2002. This is why you can legally own them instead of being required to rent them from GS1 for thousands of dollars plus annual fees.

Each UPC/EAN (GTIN) we provide is globally unique, has never been used, and is issued only once.

Why are your quantities more flexible?

We’re able to sell GTINs in whatever denomination you need, whereas GS1 sells only in fixed blocks such as 10, 100, 1,000, and more—each with increasing costs and recurring fees. Our approach lets you purchase exactly the number of barcodes your business requires without the financial burden of large packages or renewals.

Why do some barcode sellers charge so much more?

Most legal, verified barcode sellers offer competitive pricing; however, some continue to take advantage of newcomers to the barcode space by charging significantly inflated rates—such as $75 for a single barcode. Fortunately, these pricing practices rarely fool customers for long, and many who encounter those inflated prices come to us afterward for an affordable, compliant solution.
